Privacy
This is a small personal page run by Mia’s Shady Garden. There are no visitor accounts, no newsletter and no advertising.
What is collected when you visit
Nothing that identifies you. There is no analytics, no tracking pixel and no advertising network here, and no cookie is set for ordinary visitors. The only cookie this site ever sets is the sign-in cookie described further down, and only the owner can trigger it.
The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps ordinary server logs — things like IP address, browser and the page requested — to keep the site up and to stop abuse. Those logs are Vercel's and are covered by Vercel's privacy policy.
Typefaces are served from this site's own domain rather than from Google Fonts, so loading a page here does not tell Google that you visited.
Plant photos come from somewhere else
The photos on the plant pages are served by the retailer's image CDN, so your browser fetches them from that company directly. As with any image on any website, that company can see your IP address and browser when it serves the picture.
Links to other places
The buttons here lead to sites like TikTok, Instagram and Amazon. Once you follow one, you are on that company's website under their privacy policy, not this one.
Some links to Amazon are affiliate links, meaning a purchase may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That is disclosed on the page where those links appear. This site sends nothing about you to Amazon; any cookies Amazon sets are Amazon's own.
Signing in
The editing area is for the owner of this site. Signing in goes through Google, which tells the site the name, email address and profile picture on the Google account used. That is held in an encrypted cookie in the browser and expires after 30 days.
It is not written to a database, because there is no database. Only email addresses on an explicit list may edit the site; anyone else who signs in is refused, and the list is re-checked on every request rather than trusted from the cookie.
What is never done
Your information is not sold, rented or shared. No marketing email is sent. No profile of you is built.
